2022/23 - U11/U13/U15/U18 Tryouts:
Welcome to the PMHA development/representative team tryout process.
Schedule - The PMHA tryout schedule is available here 2022 Schedule Check back for any last-minute changes to the schedule. Groupings will be sent out prior to the first ice time.
Coach-run sessions - Leading up to tryout weekends, there will be coach-run sessions to get players back on the ice before formal evaluations. These sessions are intended for players to get back on the ice and ready for tryouts and for coaches to get to know players a bit before the formal evaluation process.
Tryout weekends – Formal player evaluations will take place on Sept 9-11 for U15/U18 & Sept 16-18 for U11/13. Check the PMHA website for the latest tryout schedule.
Tryout process – PMHA will have independent evaluators who enter player ratings based on each tryout ice time and a computer program, will rank the players after each ice session. Through the process, the player ratings are automatically updated and we are left with the top 24 (approximately) players for each division. These top 24 players will then play in a final inter-squad game and coaches can then choose their team out of those top 24, essentially having the say in the last couple of players on the team if they have a preference for type of player or specific skills.
